Presentation

I have been talking to students about the need to think about how they will present their work. Many of them just show one image on a page no title or anything. I think that is ok for sketches and internet blogs, but when submitting work professionally it helps to think about how the work gets presented. I gave some examples but some of them are still struggling it seems so I did this today to quickly demonstrate. They are redesigning Jekyll and Hyde so I stayed on assignment.

Couple of sketches from the past few days

I am working at remembering to post more often. (Not that I think anyone is actually looking that often.) One of the harder things now is time to try and post to all social media sites. FB, Pinterest, Blog, BeHance, would I tweet this stuff to?  If anyone know some good software to allow one push to all platforms I would be happy to hear it.

Dresden Files

I have been reading this series of books non-stop for at least a year now. I was late finding them but I think I have read each book at least 6 times now. (there are 14 in the series)

Harry Dresden, Wizard of the White Council, Winter Knight and Warden.

If you have never heard of the series, go get it. Written by Jim Butcher.

Vector Painting

I wanted to show my students some techniques with Adobe Illustrator. Seems the hardest thing for them to grasp is the layer and shapes used in illustrator.

Stinky Final

Finished this, my wife was happy and somewhat upset...........not sure why.

Just kidding, she liked it, and asked for a family portrait. I explained that this IS a family portrait and she gave me a look.......

Not gonna change it..........

When my oldest son was born I was working from home and doing the stay at home Dad gig. I loved it. Even with the olfactory dangers. When my second son was born I helped as much as I could even wjorking a regular job.  With my third however..........well, he is almost 2 years old now and I think I have changed maybe.......MAYBE, 3 to 5 stinky diapers. I have changed lots of wet ones but, well I have shirked the stinky responsibility on my lovely and patient wife. Even my older boys know the routine. Smell a dirty? "HEY, let's go play somewhere else......"

Should be finishing this one soon.

Something from the classroom..

I created a  character for the students to work on this quarter. They get to come up with their own designs. But while I was showing them how to play with body shapes I sketched out a nice one and had to finish it over the weekend.
